Viking Rangetop & Cooktop Repair in Pleasant Hill
Rangetops take the daily abuse — boil-overs, grease, scrubbing — and reward it with the most common Viking call there is: ignition trouble. ServiceON is factory-authorized for Viking (BEAR #49373) and repairs gas rangetops, cooktops and induction surfaces across Pleasant Hill and central Contra Costa with genuine OEM parts.
Ignition faults — our most frequent call
Clicking that won’t stop, clicking that won’t start, or one burner sparking while its neighbor stays dead. The path is always the same: burner cap and igniter first (half of these are caps knocked off-center or wet from a spill), then the spark module and switch harness with a meter. Nothing gets replaced on suspicion.
Flame and gas issues
- Weak, yellow or lifting flames — clogged ports, mis-seated caps, or valve output problems confirmed with a manometer
- Burners that won’t stay lit — thermocouple-style re-ignition behavior tested per burner
- Griddle zones on rangetop configurations — independent igniters and valves, repaired on their own branch
Induction and electric
- Zones that won’t recognize pans, or cut out mid-cook
- Touch controls that respond intermittently or not at all
- Glass-top damage — we’ll tell you honestly when it’s cosmetic and when it isn’t

FAQ
The clicking stops when I wiggle the knob.
That points at the burner switch in the harness rather than the spark module — good news: it narrows the diagnosis before we arrive.
Is it safe to keep using the other burners while one misbehaves?
If there’s no gas smell and the misbehaving burner is off — yes. Leave the problem burner unused until it’s looked at.
A boil-over killed two burners at once.
Spills travel along the harness. Give it 24 hours to dry fully; if both stay dead, the switch harness likely took the hit — a contained repair.
